Korngold, a composer who has recently garnered sudden attentionnot least due to the Japanese production of *The City of the Dead*is a figure many of you are likely already familiar with as a prodigious genius. Indeed, when one listens to works he composed before turning 13, it is impossible not to be moved by the sheer magnitude of his talent. From the very first notes, the same rich essence that characterizes his later Violin Concerto already wafts through the music.
