Description:

The String Quintet, composed at the suggestion of the renowned Viennese violinist Josef Hermesberger, was written around the same time as his Symphonies Nos. 5 and 6. Although the ensemble is small, it unquestionably bears the hallmarks of a symphony. After all, even before hearing the first theme in its entirety, you should be able to feel from the bottom of your heart, Ah, this is Bruckner. Incidentally, it is said that the scherzo of the second movement can be replaced with the intermezzo on Track 5 during a performance.
