Description:

British artist Realf Heygate, aka Flaer, has released a full-length album on ODDA Recordings. Created in a fragmented and intuitive manner between 2023 and 2025, and shaped like a visual art sculpture, the album is an extension of the 2023 mini-album “Preludes,” but with a soundscape that is more transient and not tied to a specific place. Environmental sounds such as the chirping of wild birds and recordings of my mother learning Spanish add warmth and memories, while degraded sound rhythms express feelings of loss and unspoken emotions. Delicate and grandiose orchestrations of piano, guitar, strings, and electronic sounds intermingle to weave a unique language of grief and love in this introspective post-classical work in search of a quiet miracle.
