Description:

Franz Schreker, a modern Austrian composer, studied at the Vienna Conservatory and also worked as a conductor. He was involved in the premieres of Zemlinsky’s “Psalm No. 23” and Schoenberg’s “Gleis Songs” and “Peace on Earth. In 1920, Zemlinsky conducted the Czech premiere in Prague, and in 1925, Erich Kleiber conducted the premiere at the Berlin State Opera. Later, it was branded as “degenerate music” by the Nazis and disappeared from the repertoire of opera houses, but its popularity revived at the end of the 20th century, and in recent years it has been performed around the world, including Japan.
