Marguerite de Navarre, queen consort of King Henry II of Navarre, who lived during the French Renaissance. She was a patron of the arts and published numerous literary works herself. Among them, the unfinished *Heptameron*a collection of stories told by travelers stranded by a stormis known as her masterpiece. Winkler reimagines these diverse tales in various forms. While the stage production uses electronics and screens to create a visually stimulating experience, the work is also fascinating when listened to purely as music.Naxos Japan
