Giovanni Di Cecco, an Italian keyboardist, is working toward completing a complete recording of Mozarts Piano Sonatas on the clavichord.Di Cecco, who studied philosophy at the University of Venice, has recorded Complete Sonatas, Volume 5, which includes K. 457 and K. 475works that evoke the music of Bach and seem to anticipate Beethovens style as well as K. 330, a work brimming with Mozarts distinctive character that belongs to neither the post-Bach nor pre-Beethoven eras.He attempts to recreate the sound of the era using a clavichord, an instrument that held a prominent place as one of the mainstream keyboard instruments during Mozarts lifetime.
