Unaccompanied Cello by the Virtuoso CarminolaFour years after his acclaimed recording of the Unaccompanied Violin for Deutsche Grammophon (three years at the time of recording), Giuliano Carminola has recorded the complete Unaccompanied Cello Suites for the ARCANA label. The arrangements are by Marco Serino, a friend of Carmignolas who has been an active member of I Musici and has performed with him for over 20 years. Carmignola came across this score just before the global COVID-19 pandemic began; deeply impressed by the arrangement, he worked on this project during lockdown with the assistance of his cellist friend Mario Brunello.Since the tuning of the cello and violin differs by one octave and a fifth, this arrangement is transposed up by a fifth.
