This is the sixth album by Graham Hunt, a singer-songwriter based in Madison, Wisconsin. For this album, he moved away from his previous home-recording-focused approach and took on the challenge of a live recording session with an eight-piece band at the renowned Pachyderm Studio in Minnesota. Building on the tradition of American indie rock, the album fluidly traverses guitar pop, psychedelia, folk, and experimental pop to depict the loneliness and alienation that pervade modern society, as well as the ongoing search for the meaning of life. It expresses the American theme of an inescapable sense of isolationeven while seeking human connectionthrough surreal, poetic lyrics and accessible melodies. This album successfully blends the dynamism of a band recording with the free-spirited creativity of home recording.
