Grand Trio Vilnius with cello master David Geringas! German composer Theodor Kirchner (1823-1903) became acquainted with Brahms in 1862 and fell in love with his music. Kirchner arranged many of Brahms’ works, and the piano trio on this album, based on the two string sextets, is considered one of his best arrangements. The Grand Trio Vilnius was founded in 2021 and is composed of three Lithuanian musicians. Cellist David Geringas studied with Rostropovich at the Moscow Conservatory and won the first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1970, attracting worldwide attention. He is a soloist with the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra and has performed as a soloist with other orchestras around the world, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and NHK Symphony Orchestra.Violinist Daria Kuznekovaite, winner of
