Beethovens Eroica by Kna & the Munich Philharmonic, Reissued in Superb Sound Quality!2-track, 38-centimeter, open-reel tape reissue seriesFrom the ProducerBeethovens Eroica, conducted by Knaepertsbusch with the Munich Philharmonic in 1953, is known as the first Eroica recording in which Knaepertsbuschs distinctive style truly shone (when it was first released on LP in 1950, it was mistakenly credited to the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra). While it has been released on CD by various labels in recent years, the 2-track, 38-centimeter open-reel tape we obtained this time likely offers the clearest sound quality to date, making it all the more moving. It also includes the interlude and the post-performance applause; I believe it is rare for a release to include the applause (I have not verified the Munich Philharmonic box set).
