Austrian conductor Hans Rosbout (1985-1962) is known as a specialist in contemporary music. He is known as a specialist in contemporary music, but he also gave excellent performances of classical and late romantic works. Among his works are a series of Mozart operas in Aix-en-Provence, Bruckner, Mahler, and Wagner, whose works have already been released on CD, and he has given brilliant performances with solid interpretations unrivaled by other conductors. On this album, we hear numerous overtures, including a rare Weber piece, excerpts from Mendelssohn’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and works “with piano” by various composers.
