The 87th in the series of recordings of the complete Paris Symphonies is now available. A project by Le Conseil de la Loge led by Julien Chauvin to record Haydn’s Paris Symphony and its contemporaries. This time it is Symphony No. 87. In addition, the soprano Zofie Kartheiser, whose expressive voice has enchanted the world, will be the guest in this program of arias. The model for Le Concert de la Loge was the Concert de la Loge Oranpique, founded in 1783 and dedicated to Haydn’s “Paris Symphony. All but Haydn’s symphonies recorded here were dedicated to this organization. Almost all but Haydn’s symphonies had been buried in history, but Cartheuser’s expressive singing and the superb orchestration led by Chauvin seem to have brought them back to their former light.
