A Collection of Patriotic Music Celebrating the French Revolution and the Republican Army]This album features a collection ranging from patriotic songs such as Meyures Song of Departure, Berliozs arrangement of La Marseillaise, and Blanquets March of the Sambre-et-Meuse Regiment, to music celebrating the Republican Army found in French opera. The performance is by the Garde Rpublicaine (Republican Guard) Military Band, well-known in Japan as a wind ensemble. Although the group has long performed as an orchestra incorporating string sections, it is credited here as a symphony orchestra (Orchestre symphonique). The French Army Choir also participates in the choral parts.
