This new recording features Hille Perl, a renowned female gambist and an indispensable artist for the German label Harmonia Mundi, in a viola duet with her daughter, Marth Perl. Marte Pearl was born in 1983 and studied the viola da gamba with Hille Pearl in Bremen, later studying under Paolo Pandolfo and Wieland Kuijken. She has performed with the vocal ensemble Ars Nova, led by Paul Hillier, and the North German Radio Choir. She is also an active member of the Bremen Weser Renaissance and Sirius Viols. This album features compositions by Marto Perl herself, traditional pieces arranged by Hille Perl, and works for the viola da gamba, allowing listeners to fully enjoy the instruments rich, mellow tone and its exquisite harmonies.Sony Music
