He became the Kapellmeister at Cologne Cathedral in 1772 and had a profound influence on the local music scene. He was also known as a glass harmonica maker and developed an improved model spanning four octaves. The Karlsruhe Court Orchestra, an ensemble specializing in period instruments that includes Japanese oboist Shogo Fujii and horn player Akiko Hiroi, presents a refreshing musical performance.King International
