The Lesser-Known Charm of Honeggers Art SongsHonegger was a member of the French Group of Six. His major works include the dramatic oratorios *King David* and *Joan of Arc at the Stake*, as well as *Pacific 231* and Symphony No. 3, Liturgical, but his art songs are rarely performed. Baritone Holger Falk and pianist Steffen Schreielmacher, who have previously recorded the little-known song cycles of Hans Eisler, have now recorded an album that fully conveys the charm of Honeggers songs.Three Songs based on poems by Ren Mora, who also wrote the libretto for *King David*. Also included are Three Songs based on poems by Claudelwhom Honegger deeply admiredand who also wrote the libretto for *Joan of Arc at the Stake*.
