Nevermore was formed around vocalist Warrel Dane and bassist Jim Sheppard, both former key members of Sanctuary, and made their debut in 1995 with their self-titled album *Nevermore*. This album served as the starting point for the band, which would later establish itself as a major force in U.S. metal, and is also a landmark work that already showcased their unique artistic vision. It is the standout debut album *Nevermore*, featuring early signature tracks such as Garden of Gray, What Tomorrow Knows, and The Sanity Assassin, making *Nevermore* a standout debut album that stands alone.
