Marquis de Vavran, a native of Belgium, is known as the explorer who, between 1920 and 1938, was the first to film the Shua Indians, one of the Native American tribes, in the Amazon. Hugues Marchal, known as a composer of film scores, watched vintage film footage shot by Grace Winter and Luc Plantier and composed free-form music while imagining the Marquis de Vavrans extraordinary journey. The music blends a variety of elementsfrom jazz-inspired sounds to folk-style melodiesstimulating the listeners imagination.
