“Bach: Suites for Solo Cello” is a work that every cellist hopes to perform at least once in their career. And many cellists create their “own Bach” by reflecting their individuality in the work and applying their own interpretations. The renowned German virtuoso Berger places John Cages works before those of Bach, seeking a new interpretation of Bach. Berger selected three pieces from ONE8a work that is particularly meditative among Cages compositions and shares many similarities with Bachsand had his son, Immanuel, sing the chorale sections to serve as the opening to the suites.
