While the work is rich in local color, incorporating regional customs and traditions, it also pays homage to the great masters of the past: famous phrases from Vivaldis works of the same name appear in Spring and Winter, and the piece concludes with a vibrant, South American-inspired finale.Born in 1943, Donpierre is a composer who won the Canadian Flix Award in 2025 for his *Requiem* and is also active in film music.
