J.R.C.G. is a project by Tacoma-based Justin R. Cruz Gallego. Co-produced with Seth Manchester (The Body, Battles, M.D. Moktar), J.R.C.G. releases its second album, “Grim Iconic…(Sadistic Mantra)” on Sub Pop. Justin R. Cruz Gallego’s shattering Sub Pop. To experience his debut release is to be reborn from the ashes. The Tacoma-based artist’s second album, Grim Iconic… Gallego’s influences for the album include British documentary filmmaker Adam Curtis, who wrote and directed the album, and the British film “The Rise of the Sadist… (Sadistic Mantra),” which was released in 1985. Gallego’s influences on the album range from British documentary filmmaker Adam Curtis to Miles Davis, Demdike Stare, and Oneohtrix Point Never.
