Fusion of Vivaldi, Piazzolla and Richter’s “Four Seasons”!VIV4LDI FOREVER, an album by the Polish duo of saxophonist Jakub Mouras and accordionist Ukasz Beina, combines Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” Piazzolla’s “The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires,” and a reworking of that by Vivaldi, Max Richter’s version of “The Four Seasons,” which is a reworking of Vivaldi’s. The three pieces are fused together. Rather than presenting each piece separately, Vivaldi and Richter have created a “patchwork of the four seasons” by interweaving excerpts from the last movement of each piece and the first movement of each piece, respectively. The two musicians’ musical essays explore a dialogue between tradition and modernity, respecting the vision of the originals while at the same time using bold ideas to create an arrangement that is more than just an arrangement.Tokyo M-Plus
