In 1825, four years after the premiere, an arrangement for wind ensemble (Harmonimusik)a popular format at the timewas published in Leipzig, making it possible to enjoy the music even in settings without an orchestra or singers. Although little is known about the arranger, Flachs, the instrumentationa standard wind octet, to which Mozart and Beethoven also composed works, augmented by a pair of flutesis brimming with dynamic variation and color, making for a truly rewarding listening experience.
