This masterpiece, released in 2015 and marking a major breakthrough for Joan Shelley, is being reissued as a Deluxe Edition. Recorded in Louisville, Kentucky, it features guitar work by Shelley and Nathan Salsburg, who was her neighbor at the time. It was named one of the best albums of the year by NPR Music and the *Los Angeles Times*, and *Rolling Stone* described it in a four-star review as an introspective work of exquisitely crafted folk songs. The reissue includes eight previously unreleased demo tracks. All were performed and recorded by Shelley alone; these are rare recordings that were shared exclusively with Salsburg at the time so he could listen to them while learning the songs.
