Joe Bonamassa, a blues-rock guitar prodigy who studied with telecaster Danny Gatton at the age of 11, opened for B.B. King at just 12, and has since gone on to play in bands and solo. Recorded on March 15, 2010 at BBC Studios in London for the radio show “The Blues Show” hosted by Paul Jones. It opens with “The Ballad Of Joe Henry,” a remake of the Mississippi John Hurt classic and the title track from the album released the previous year, followed by Bobby “Blue” Bland’s “Further On Up The Road,” Bobby Parker’s “Steal Your Heart Away”, ZZ Top “Just Got Paid”, Otis Rush “So Many Roads, So Many Trains”, Leonard Cohen “Bird On The Wire”, and Mose Allison “Young Man Blues”. The band also performs a wide repertoire of original compositions.
