[150th Anniversary of Berliozs Death: Gardiner and the ORR Perform Symphonie Fantastique Once Again!]Gardiner has re-recorded a video performance of Symphonie Fantastique with the Orchestre Rvolutionnaire et Romantique. While the previous recording was made in 1991 at the former Paris Conservatorythe site of the premierethis new recording takes place at the Royal Opera House at the Palace of Versailles, where Berlioz is said to have conducted on October 29, 1848. In addition to the main Symphonie fantastique, the program is packed with the overture to Le Corsaire, The Death of Cleopatra featuring French mezzo-soprano Lucile Richard, and two pieces from *Les Troyens*. While the treatment of the harp, cornet, and low brass in the second movement of the Symphonie fantastique generally follows the style of the previous release, there are a couple of surprising touchesincluding in the prologu
