First up is Merlins Evocacingive it a listen even if youre skeptical; its truly moving. Its also wonderful how this melody returns at the end of the suite. Krauss piece, composed as a competition required piece, demands virtuosic technique, but Vio plays it masterfully. The rest of the program consists entirely of rare works, but theyre all pieces you can enjoy right away.
