A live performance in Madrid by Josep Colom, a master of the Spanish piano scene.The program features an elaborate structure: Schuberts complete set of six Moments Musicaux is interspersed with various short pieces; the pianist adds his own improvisations using motifs from preceding and following pieces; and the set is framed by the same short piece by Schoenberg at the beginning and end, with the entire program performed without a break. The adjacent pieces create a synergistic effect in their respective interpretations, and with a generous dose of improvisation, the performance feels incredibly fresh.
