The Compatibility of Pergolesis Stabat Mater with Chorus and Haydns Church Music-Style SymphonyLe Concert de la Loge is one of the most dynamic early-music orchestras at the forefront of the French music scene, particularly highly regarded for its interpretations of works from the Classical period onward. What we hear here is Pergolesis masterpiece *Stabat Mater*a work with many competing interpretations or so one might think, but the lineup also features the French Boys and Girls Choir, whose presence has been growing in recent years. Although the music itself is identical to the standard two-soloist version, this recording uses the choral version published in Paris in 1769.
