A World-First Recording!Reichas *Grand Symphonie de Salon*for Nine Instruments,which had been thought lost!In 2017, while researching an archive donated to the music department of the BNF, Julien Chovan and his colleagues discovered Reichs Grand Symphonie de Salon for 9 Instruments (Grand Chamber Symphony) (featured here in its world premiere recording) and another work of the same type for 10 instruments. For each work, not only were autograph scoresclearly attributable to Reichapreserved, but also the parts used for performance (which were hand-copied scores). In recording the work for nine instruments included here, the performers were able to use early 19th-century instruments and record in a salon with excellent acoustics and a truly Parisian atmosphere. As a result, listeners can enjoy a performance with a sound imbued with a distinctly Parisian ambiance.King International
