Keiko Takeda is a singular singer who, since her days with the Konnyaku-za Opera Theater, has spent many years creating her own unique world of songs in Japanese. Opera Hitorikkiri is the title of the Solo Opera series Takeda initiated. Since the first performance in 2005, there have been a total of nine works in the series, three of whichcomposed by Yuji Takahashiare included on this CD. Grandmothers Song, placed at the end, is not part of the *Opera Hitorikkiri* series, but it is an operatic work in which two distinct time frames coexist. (C)RS
