• When King Crimson entered the studio in July ’74, the band had been touring extensively and releasing the albums “Larks’ Tongues in Aspic” and “Starless & Bible Black” for two years. Jamie Muir (percussion) and David Cross (violin / Mellotron) had left the band and at the same time the band cemented their reputation as one of the strongest bands on the international rock scene.

  With many former members and friends on sax, violin, oboe and clarinet, the band produced Red, the last Crimson studio album of the 70s and a true masterpiece of the decade, which numerous musicians and bands such as Steve Vai, Vernon Reid, Primus and influenced many more.
