Description:

“Peter and the Wolf,” a delightful piece of music for children, was written in 1936, and it was Koussevitzky who oversaw the recording of the first English-language narration for this piece (performed by R. Hale in 1939). Although this performance has been beloved by many for a long time, the 1950 version narrated by Eleanor Roosevelt (wife of the 32nd President of the United States)while available on LPhas not been reissued on CD.
