Volume 2 of the St. Annes Church Organ Concert series (Volume 1 is VKJK1207). St. Annes Church in Annaberg-Buchholz is located in the state of Saxony in eastern Germany, along the road leading to Dresden. The churchs organ was built in 188384 and underwent further improvements in the 20th century, resulting in its current form with a wide range of features. This album features works by J.S. Bach framed by pieces by composers who influenced him and those he influenced. Matthias Juss won the 6th International J.S. Bach Competition held in Leipzig in 1980; subsequently, he served as organist at Trinity Church in Kemnitz and as music director at St. Annes Church in Annaberg-Buchholz. He is a versatile organist whose repertoire also includes contemporary music by composers such as Penderecki.Tobu Land System
