KAIROS New Album!Music for “Bachet Acoustic Sculpture”!This is a collection of works by composer/percussionist Luis Tabuenca (1979-), together with the Strasbourg Percussion Ensemble, exploring the sound of the Bachet acoustic sculpture as a new instrument. The Bachet brothers (Bernard and Franois) invented in the 1950s a complex series of resonant metal, glass, and wood sculptures, for which the composer created a hybrid notation to capture “transforming sounds” that do not fit into traditional musical notation. Each piece is constructed as a cartography of sound, with immersive recordings by Neu Records highlighting the depth and spatiality of the soundscape.
