Liese Vandersmissen is a Belgian harpist born in 1996. She is a rising star who currently lives on a boat in London while pursuing her performing career. She has compiled a collection of solo harp pieces by composers from her native Belgium. With the exception of her own compositions, the program features Romantic and modern works. She performs Godfrois Dance of the Sylphsa standard in the harp repertoire despite its extreme difficultyand the little-known gem Two Pieces (An Ordinary Story / Once Upon a Time), on a historical Harraud harp, while she performs Fontins works and her own compositions on a modern pedal harp. This album showcases both the rich expressiveness of the Harraud harp and the wide-ranging possibilities of the modern harp.Tokyo M Plus
