It includes four works by Scherzi, which stand somewhat apart from the avant-garde works of the time. Next, from the works of Madernawho strongly advocated for polystylismwe have selected pieces featuring a style in which the flute is played alongside sounds played back from tape. Finally, De Felices MU was written specifically for flutist Machiko Takahashi. Listeners can discern similarities with the opera AKUMU, which De Felice composed after drawing inspiration from the early works of author Junichir Tanizaki, and a certain sense of Japonism pervades MU as a whole.
