Kielefski: Piano WorksStefan Ksilewski was a composer of astonishing talent. After studying Polish literature and philosophy at the University of Warsaw, he studied piano and music theory at the Warsaw Conservatory. He then went to Paris to study under Nadia Boulanger, though it is said he took only a single lesson with her. He began his career as a composer, critic, and writer during the war; in 1932, he published his first review in *Echo Week*, drawing attention for addressing not only music but also political issues and a variety of other topics. In 1939, he returned from Paris and was appointed music director of the radio station Warsaw II. He was working at the radio station during the Warsaw Uprising, but it is said that most of his works were lost in the fighting (they were later reconstructed).After the war, he settled in Krakw, where he devoted himself to magazine editing and polit
