Carlo Mannelli spent most of his life in Rome, where, as a violinist, he was active in performing, as well as in operatic performances and religious services. Arcangelo Corelli often performed in Mannelli’s presence and has described him as one of his most influential teachers. The recording, Trio Sonata Op.3, consists of 12 sonatas, seven of which are in four movements, two in six, and the last one in three. The sonatas are characterized by vivid melodies, sometimes bold harmonic surprises, rich timbres, and chromatic expressions that catch the listener off-guard. Performed by Ensemble Giardino di Delizier.
