Elsans concerto depicts the terror of the Nazi era, and both Elsans and Shostakovichs works evoke a variety of vivid imagery. Picchetti is a French violinist who studied under Perlman and Menuhin. Since his debut performance at Carnegie Hall, he has been active on the world stage. In 2013, he formed Le Concert Idal and has been actively performing a wide-ranging repertoire, from Piazzolla to Vivaldi, as well as commissioned new works.
