Markta Irglovs second album, created after relocating to Iceland and centered on the theme of memoryMarkta Irglov is a singer-songwriter from the Czech Republic. At age 17, she was cast as the lead actress in the 2007 film *Once*, which tells a story much like her own rise to international fame (a love story set in Dublin, in which a local man and a Czech immigrant woman who meet on the street connect through music), and unexpectedly won the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 80th Academy Awards for her performance of Falling Slowly. She subsequently gained popularity in Ireland as part of the duo The Swell Season with Glen Hansard, her co-star from the film. In 2011, she released her debut solo album, *Anar*. Her organic and introspective musical style has won her many fans, and her soundreminiscent of Joni Mitchell and Kate Bushis particularly captivating. Combined sales of her wo
