The Arnhem Philharmonic, currently based in Arnhem, the capital of the Dutch province of Gelderland, is actively pursuing its musical endeavors. In March 2003, the orchestra made its debut in Japan to great acclaim. Now, the orchestra, led by Vienna-born conductor Sieghard, presents Mahlers *Das Lied von der Erde*.This performance features mezzo-soprano Christiane Stotijn, a prima donna currently making waves in Europe, and the accomplished tenor Donald Rittaker. In the final movement in particular, listeners will be captivated by Stothains enveloping, rich voice, and through this beautiful symphony woven with the orchestras vivid tones, they will be able to experience the sublime world of Mahler.
