Moved by the playing of the legendary violinist Elman, he took up the violin, studied in Europe three times, and became the first person in Japan to purchase a Stradivarius, which caused quite a stir. In 1930, he studied under Hindemith and Furtwngler and transitioned to a career as a composer and conductor.The violin sonata featured in this recording is a long-lost sonata that was discovered in 2001 at the Koichi Kishi Memorial Room at Konan Gakuen in Ashiya City. The performers are Masayuki Kino, solo concertmaster of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, and his sister, Mami Kino, who is active in Paris.Tobu Land System
