Michael first visited Japan in 1973 as a member of the Jackson 5. He toured as part of the Jacksons during the *Off the Wall* and *Thriller* eras, but this *Bad World Tour* marked his first solo tour. The tour kicked off with a series of shows in Japan. In fact, he visited Japan twice during the *BAD* tour. The first was in 1987: September 12, 13, and 14 at Korakuen Stadium; September 19, 20, and 21 at Hankyu Nishinomiya Stadium; and September 25, 26, 27, October 3, and 4 at Yokohama Stadium.
