The Big Band led by Mike Rudorn gathers at Van Gelder Studios! The Big Band Jazz album led by Mike Rudorn, the leading B-3 organist. The leading members of the New York jazz world have gathered at the Rudy Van Gelder Studio. Mike LeDorn has been consistently releasing albums as a leader on the Savant label. His last album was an acoustic piano trio album featuring Christian McBride (b) and Lewis Nash (ds), but this time it is a big band album. This time, however, it was a big band recording, using the original C-3 organ that Jimmy Smith had used many times for recording at Van Gelder Studios. The album features eight songs, five performed by the big band and three by the Grover Quartet, a group that has been together for 20 years, featuring Eric Alexander (ts), Peter Bernstein (g), and Joe Farnsworth (ds).It also features three Rudawn originals and Jazzmen originals by Lee Morgan and Grant Green.
