Description:

J.C.F. Bach (17321795), the second son of J.S. Bach, who had many children, became a court musician in Bckeburg and is therefore known as the Bach of Bckeburg. Perhaps because his career was relatively low-key, he did not receive particularly favorable reviews from contemporary critics; however, this was partly due to the fact that his brothers were all too distinctive in their own right, and it certainly was not because he himself lacked musical talent. The three symphonies available here are all refined and witty, and can certainly be considered masterpieces capable of serving as a bridge from the Baroque to the Classical period.Naxos Japan
