Debussy, Ravel, Bartk, Stravinsky, Berg, Prokofiev Messiaen. Reflecting the history of music in the first half of the 20th century, Akio Yashiro inherited the essence of these innovative composers from his mentorsKunihiko Hashimoto, Akira Ifukube, and Yujiro Ikeuchiand perfectly sublimated a neoclassical European style into his own works. His representative work, the Piano Concerto, has become a masterpiece in its genre, still performed repeatedly even in the 21st century. This piece, which makes full use of a richly colorful sound reminiscent of Bartk and Prokofiev, won the 1968 Otaka Prize. Meanwhile, the Symphony, composed in 1958, was the first completed work after Yashiro returned from his studies in Paris. It was written with the symphonies of Csar Franckwhom Yashiro deeply admiredin mind. This performance conveys the passionate vision of Takuo Yuasa, who openly expressed his admiration f
