Kazushi Ohnos Latest Video! Stravinskys Culmination of His Neoclassical Period:*The Rakes Progress* is an opera that can be considered the culmination of Stravinskys neoclassical works. It is a meta-opera brimming with parodies of opera art from past and present, and at the same time, an outstanding contemporary opera in its own right. The kitschy stage design is the work of Le Page, known for directing Cirque du Soleils KA and The Andersen Project, which was also performed in Japan. Based on Faust, this opera is richly infused with metaphors drawn from the Bible and American culture at the time of its composition. While the singing by Claycomb as Anne and Simmer as Nick is superb, the real highlight of this video is the rich music by Kazushi Ohnoan opera conductor who enjoys an excellent reputation even in Europe.
