Celebrating 90 years of life, the world of his friend Arvo Prt by Pvo JrviEstonian composer Arvo Prt will turn 90 on September 11, 2025. For Paavo Jrvi, who also grew up in a musical family in Estonia, Prt was “a super cool friend in a denim jacket and baseball cap” from an early age. For a project celebrating the composer’s 90th birthday, Prvo finally recorded “Credo,” a piece he had always wanted to perform, making it a monumental recording. Written at a turning point in Prt’s career, “Credo” is a work for chorus, orchestra, and piano that combines the beauty of his later works with avant-garde and aggressiveness. It is an attempt to crystallize the essence of Christ’s “Do not repay evil with evil,” as stated in the “Tarum Sanctorum,” and was first performed in 1968 in Tallinn (now the capital of Estonia) under the direction of Paavo’s father, Nm Jrvi. The first performance was greeted with en
