This recording captures a concert held at La Fenice in 2011. The program features an innovative pairing of Mozarts late work, the Clarinet Concerto, and the young Mahlers Symphony No. 1. Perch, whose clarinet playing is characterized by a mellow tone, studied at the Bellini Conservatory in Palermo and later studied under Sabine Meiner. He has performed with numerous orchestras and has served as principal clarinetist of the La Fenice Orchestra since 1997. He is also active as a soloist and is dedicated to mentoring the next generation through master classes. Conductor Mateus is currently one of the most promising young conductors. A graduate of Venezuelas El Sistema music education program, he was appointed principal conductor of the Teatro La Fenice Orchestra in 2011 and continues to enjoy a thriving career. In these performances of Mozart and Mahler, he delivers robust interpretations that s
